Dr. Cheng Yu is the managing partner of ALY. He received his PhD and Master degree in Civil Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD. He obtained his bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Tsinghua University, China.
Dr. Yu has over 15 years' experience in Civil and Construction Engineering. He is an internationally recognized researcher and engineer in the area of light-frame steel construction.
Dr. Yu published over 100 technical articles in the Civil and Construction fields. He is a consultant for a number of major construction and steel companies in the US. Dr. Yu's expertise includes structural engineering, construction engineering, building information modeling, construction risk management and control, building thermal analysis, and building component development.
Jeremy Artman is a decorated 4-year U.S. Army Infantry Veteran with a Master of Science in Construction Management from the University of North Texas. He earned a B.S. in Construction Engineering Technology, with a minor in Business from the University of North Texas. Jeremy joined the Army after 9/11/2001, serving 1 year in Iraq with the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team from 2003 to 2004 during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He is originally from Pennsylvania, where he grew up learning the construction trade from his father, a top of the line handyman and carpenter.
Jeremy moved to Texas after his Honorable Discharge from the Army. His Master's thesis on the design of the new Army Tactical Operation Shelters, titled "The Design and Development of Lightweight Wall, Roof, and Floor Panels for Rigid Wall Shelters", is published. Jeremys' design of the rigid wall shelters will continue to assist the military well into the future.
His research, and military service were highlighted on NBC DFW Channel 5 at 5, and the Denton Public Broadcasting Network. During his final 2 years of study, Jeremy managed the Structural Research Lab at the University where he oversaw multiple research projects for companies like USG, Baltimore Air Coil, and the Department of Defense Natick Research and Development Division. Early in his engineering schooling he spent one and a half years as an intern with The Beck Group, working on the University of North Texas student union, a $160 million project.
Jeremy's area of expertise includes Building Information Modeling, Construction Scheduling, Structural and Construction Engineering and Management, insulating materials, carpentry, flooring, and framing. Jeremy has been married to his wonderful wife Kathy since 2011. He enjoys spending time with his wife, family and dogs, and working on his property.
Chris brings a wealth of expertise in his role as managing partner with a successful career of over 20 years of construction industry experience. As a managing partner he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of projects of the company, providing insight and leadership to help promote the success of each project. He is an expert in all aspects of pre-bid design, estimating, value engineering, biding, negotiating contracts, project management, and the construction process. Chris also offers his extensive knowledge for consultation on new construction and renovation projects.
As a long time DFW resident with a bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering Technologies from the University of North Texas, Chris has built a network of strong working relationships within the Metroplex. He has been involved with a wide variety of projects, involving all aspects of residential and light commercial buildings.
In his free time, Chris enjoys fine woodworking, camping, and spending time with his family.
